Update

Update:

  • We have finished the main content of our course ware already. Thing is, we think it looks a bit boring especially for elementary students so we're working on how to improve its appearance (more illustrations, nicer background, more colors, aesthetics stuffs). Here is how it looks like as of the moment:

  • We've done a quiz for each topic as well but since we only used Hot Potato Quiz Maker, the quizzes are all multiple choice. The user will see his score every time he answer an item. If the answer's right, a trivia will pop out. Otherwise, the score will be diminished. We are now in the process of making "cooler" activities for kids aside from these quizzes.

  • Tomorrow, we'll be having a new lay out, and more visual aids. We'll also be testing our courseware against the XO laptop although we already adjusted the resolution to 800 x 600, just to be sure.
  • Later on, we'll be adding new activities and we'll try to improve it further until deployment next year.
  • We'll also be finalizing the paperworks for this project and we'll try to get sponsors.

Evaluation

Papigura Group

    a. Did the group cover the scope/s they want to achieve?
I think so. Also, I really like the idea of their project. It looks like it'd really be fun for the kids.

    b. What enhancement/s should the group include?
The project is already great in my opinion. It is simple, fun, and really educational - the very purpose of our course. I am not sure weather it's already finished, though.

    c. Comments/Suggestions on specific items/parts of the project.
I am not sure why they changed the main character from banana to mango, I actually prefer banana because of personal bias (and I do think Filipino kids are more familiar to bananas rather than mango fruit). But aside from that personal opinion, I am expecting that the result of their work would be good.
